A Night I Will Never Forget...
I had PHY 101 test scheduled for July 10, 1999. I had planned a 'TDB' (Till Day Breaks - Reading through the night) for a test that would eventually not take place... At about 12, I just felt a strong urge to leave BOOC and go back to my room. Thankfully, I gave in and went back to my room. I was just settling in to sleep when one of my bunkmates ran into the room with a lot of guys behind her... She had just stepped out of Awo Cafe when the cultists opened fire in Awo Cafe...
There is the testimony of a friend of some of my room mates who was shot in the stomach (I know the guy). His intenstines were out and all that. He kept declaring 'I shall not die but live to declare the works of the Lord'. He is still alive till date...
5 students, including the Secretary General of the Student Union Government were not so fortunate...
You're forever in our hearts, George Iwilade, Tunde Oke, Eviano Ekelemu, Efe Godspower Ekpede, Yemi Ajiteru
UPDATE: I learnt that 9 people, not 5, were killed that night...I don't know the names of the other 4...
'Advice to Ladies'- Really?
Why do people feel it's okay to be rude to unmarried ladies in the name of giving 'advice'? And what's this balderdash about a woman working on favour so that when the man meets her, he will notice the favour in his life? Did I miss something in Proverbs 18:22? Why are people like this na? Shey favour has nothing to do with the man's actions? What happened to scriptures like Psalm 5:12, Proverbs 3:3-4, 8:34-35, 11:27, 12:2, 13:15, 14:9 and others?
If you're not experiencing favour as a married man, YOU are more likely to be the problem than your wife! Young men, the woman you marry is NOT your automatic ticket to God's favour; you have your own part to play...
